Obaut Bob Edwards

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1947, Edwards began his radio career in Indiana before joining NPR in 1974. He initially co-hosted All Things Considered with Susan Stamberg. In 1979, he became the founding host of Morning Edition, a role he held for nearly 25 years. His signature baritone voice became a morning staple for millions of listeners nationwide.
Edwards was renowned for his thoughtful interviews and memorable segments, including his weekly conversations with sportscaster Red Barber. His work earned him numerous accolades, including a Peabody Award in 1999.
