In 1975, 13-year-old Laura O’Malley vanished from her Long Beach, NY home, leaving behind a mysterious note. Her family hoped she’d simply run away, but she remained missing for decades.
In 1995, skeletal remains were found in Santa Cruz County, CA, but not identified until DNA testing in 2016 confirmed they were Laura’s. She likely died between 1977 and 1984, at just 13–17 years old.
The case is still open, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.
