Ted Cassidy was a towering figure in Hollywood, best known for portraying Lurch in The Addams Family. Standing 6’9″ with a deep voice, his career spanned film, television, and voice work, making a lasting impact.
Born in 1932, Cassidy excelled in academics and athletics before pursuing acting. His deep voice first made waves as a disc jockey, and he went on to play Lurch in 1964, transforming the character with his iconic line, “You rang?” He also voiced characters in Star Trek and appeared in films like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Cassidy was also a talented musician and writer, co-writing The Harrad Experiment. Sadly, he passed away in 1979 at just 46 due to heart surgery complications. His legacy lives on through his memorable roles, showcasing his versatility and enduring influence.
