2.. Most Dangerous Cancers in Men and Women

In 2024, over 2 million new cancer cases are expected in the U.S., with 611,720 deaths. One in three women and one in two men will develop cancer in their lifetime. The top five cancers in men (lung, prostate, colon, pancreas, liver) will cause 322,800 deaths, while the top five in women (lung, breast, colon, pancreas, ovary) will result in 288,920 deaths. Lung cancer remains the deadliest, though rates are declining due to fewer smokers and better treatments. Colon cancer is rising in younger people, likely due to lifestyle factors. Screening is recommended at age 45, or sooner with high-risk factors.
