Why they do that?

Flight attendants’ seated posture during takeoff and landing serves a critical safety purpose. Unlike passengers, they sit in specialized jump seats, which lack padding or armrests, designed for practicality and stability. These seats help them maintain balance and minimize injury during turbulence or sudden movements.

This position also reduces the risk of severe injuries in emergencies, allowing attendants to assist passengers effectively in stressful situations. While this posture is part of flight attendant training, it also becomes instinctive over time, ensuring they’re always ready for any situation.
