Cold Urticaria: Symptoms And Treatment
Cold urticaria is an allergic reaction to cold temperatures, causing skin redness, welts, itching, and, in some cases, fever or fainting. It may be triggered by exposure to cold weather or water, with symptoms appearing within minutes or hours.
The cause is unknown but can be linked to infections or blood conditions. Treatments include over-the-counter antihistamines like Claritin or Zyrtec, which relieve symptoms, as well as corticosteroids or Dapsone for more severe cases.
