Expecting twins, Millie and Louis were devastated by the news of anencephaly, which led to the loss of their baby, Skye, shortly after birth. This heartache inspired them to create the purple butterfly initiative.
They founded the “Skye High Foundation” and introduced purple butterfly stickers in NICU units worldwide. These stickers discreetly signal the loss of one twin, helping prevent hurtful comments during a painful time.
While they can’t change Skye’s fate, Millie and Louis offer support through groups and initiatives like the purple butterflies, aiming to help other families facing similar heartbreak. As Millie says, “The more support we can offer, the better it will be.”
