Her altered appearance sparked controversy, with some questioning whether the images were edited. Tabar’s social media, boasting nearly four million followers, was eventually removed.
In 2019, she was arrested for blasphemous content, among other charges, and sentenced to 10 years in prison. After serving 14 months, her case, highlighted by activist Masih Alinejad, became a symbol of the struggles for justice and human rights in Iran.
