Conejos County Coroner Richard Martin told PEOPLE that preliminary findings show 25-year-olds Andrew Porter and Ian Stasko were struck by lightning, suffering what he called “a pretty intense electrical jolt” with small burn marks on their skin. Full autopsy results confirming the cause of death are expected in about eight weeks.
