NYU College Republicans President Steps Down Following Remarks About Barron Trump

The president of New York University’s College Republicans, Kaya Walker, has resigned after describing President Donald Trump’s son Barron Trump as “an oddity on campus” in an interview with Vanity Fair. Walker’s comment about Barron—who is a freshman at NYU’s Stern School of Business and often escorted by Secret Service—drew swift backlash, including from the national College Republicans of America, which called the remarks “inappropriate.” Following the criticism, Walker stepped down from her leadership role. The national group has since publicly invited Barron Trump to join the College Republicans.
