Big Update in Case On House Democrat Charged With Striking ICE Agent

Several Department of Homeland Security (DHS) posts on X referencing a May incident involving Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-N.J.) have been deleted following an order from U.S. District Judge Jamel Semper.
McIver was charged with assaulting federal immigration officers during a visit to the Delaney Hall detention center in Newark. She has pleaded not guilty and claims the charges are politically motivated, though video reportedly shows her pushing an ICE agent.
Judge Semper ordered the DHS to remove online statements criticizing McIver and other lawmakers, calling them “prejudicial.” While most posts were deleted, one controlled by a private journalist remains.
McIver faces up to 17 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
