Texas Couple Survives Harrowing Flood, Finds Hope

In the early hours of July 4, 2025, Doug and Elizabeth Fuller were forced from their Ingram, Texas home as unprecedented floodwaters swept through their neighborhood. Clinging to a cedar post for four hours, they endured debris and roaring waters described by Doug as “a freight train and a tornado fighting.”

Rescue teams arrived after the waters receded, treating minor injuries. Though most of their belongings were lost, Doug’s favorite guitar survived in the attic — a small beacon of hope amid the devastation.

Their story reflects the resilience of Texas communities, where neighbors are banding together to rebuild and support one another in the aftermath of the floods.
