Rock Singer Marcie Free Dies at 71

Marcie Free, the powerhouse vocalist known for her work with King Kobra, Signal, and Unruly Child, has died at age 71.

Her death was confirmed by drummer Jay Schellen, who called her “a voice that had no limits and no equal.” The cause of death was not disclosed.

Born Mark Edward Free in Indiana, Marcie rose to fame in the 1980s with King Kobra, earning praise for her soaring vocals on albums like Ready to Strike. She is remembered as one of rock’s most distinctive and inspiring voices.
