A long-married couple was found dead from gunshot wounds at a Mesa, Arizona senior living facility early Thursday. Police say 92-year-old Jerome Woolums shot his 93-year-old wife, Katharine, before taking his own life. Staff discovered the couple after reports that they were unresponsive in their bedroom.
The Woolums had lived at the facility for medical care and daily assistance. Authorities have not determined a motive but describe the incident as a tragic case involving love, illness, and despair in life’s final chapter.
