Natalee Holloway, who disappeared in Aruba in 2005, has finally had her case closed after Joran van der Sloot confessed in 2023 to killing her and disposing of her body in the ocean. While he cannot be prosecuted in Aruba due to the statute of limitations, he is serving prison sentences in Peru and the U.S. for other crimes. Natalee’s mother called the confession painful but necessary.
