The search for 18-year-old North Carolina teen Giovanni Pelletier ended tragically when his decomposed body was found in a Florida retention pond on August 8, a week after he vanished following a desperate “Mom, help” text to his mother. Pelletier had been visiting his estranged father’s family when he reportedly began acting erratically, left his belongings roadside, and disappeared. Despite initial searches, a private investigator hired by his family ultimately found his remains in an area authorities had already checked. His death remains under investigation.
