Hero bystander who risked own life to disarm Bondi Beach gunman is identified

A Sydney father of two is being hailed as a hero after bravely confronting a gunman during a mass shooting at Bondi Beach. Ahmed al Ahmed, 43, a fruit shop owner with no firearms experience, charged into danger, wrestled a weapon from one shooter, and was shot twice in the process. Despite his injuries, he secured the gun and helped prevent further harm before police arrived. A second gunman was later killed in a shootout with officers, while Ahmed remains hospitalized recovering, praised by family and witnesses for his extraordinary courage.
