Brazilian Singer Vanessa Rios Dies at 42 After Battle With Cancer

Fans across Brazil and beyond are mourning the loss of beloved singer Vanessa Rios, who passed away at 42 after a long fight with a rare form of lung cancer.
Rios died on October 25 while receiving treatment at a hospital. Known for her powerful voice and radiant energy, she continued performing as recently as this summer in the U.S.
Born in Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Rios began her career in 2010 with Encosta Neu, later rising to fame with the hit “Lençol Vermelho” and her role as lead singer of Kitara.
