Born in 1960 in El Paso, Texas, the youngest of five grew up in a violent, abusive household. By age 10, he turned to drugs and alcohol to cope. At 15, he witnessed a brutal murder by his cousin, deepening his descent into darkness.
In his early twenties, he moved to California, where heavy drug use and petty crime marked the start of a nomadic, criminal life—setting the stage for his later infamy.
