A doctor in Vietnam was astonished when a newborn arrived holding his mother’s contraceptive device in his tiny hand — a moment that quickly went viral online.
The baby was delivered at Hai Phong International Hospital in northern Vietnam, reportedly gripping an intrauterine device (IUD), the very birth control meant to prevent pregnancy.
Obstetrician Tran Viet Phuong shared the photo, saying, “After delivery, I thought him holding the device was interesting, so I took a picture. I never thought it would receive so much attention.”
The image has since spread worldwide, with many calling the boy a “miracle baby” who proved nothing can stand in the way of fate. Both mother and child are healthy and doing well.
