11-year-old dies by suicide after ICE threats from bullies

The death of 11-year-old Jocelynn Rojo Carranza has left a Texas community heartbroken and her mother demanding justice. Jocelynn’s family says she endured months of severe bullying at Gainesville Intermediate School, including threats from classmates to have her parents deported. Her mother, Marbella Carranza, claims the school failed to inform her of the extent of the abuse despite weekly counseling sessions. On February 3, Jocelynn was found unresponsive at home and died five days later. Remembered as a joyful child who loved dancing and movie nights, her story has become a painful reminder of the lasting harm bullying can cause.
