12-Year-Old Black Boy From Texas Beats Leukemia After Three-Year Battle

Nationwide — Michael “MJ” Dixon, a 12-year-old from Killeen, Texas, is now cancer-free after a three-year battle with leukemia. Diagnosed at 8 with just a 23% survival chance, MJ defied the odds through chemotherapy and a clinical trial drug, Blinatumomab. He celebrated remission by ringing the bell at Baylor Scott & White and donating $2,000 in toys to young cancer patients. His mother credits faith, community support, and rapper Lil Boosie for their help. MJ now inspires others, urging them to “keep fighting” and never give up.
