Early Wednesday morning, a bus (number 9132) traveling from Ciudad Acuña to Gómez Palacio overturned on Highway 57 at kilometer 68 in the Hermanas-Sabinas section. The driver, Alfonso Nava, died at the scene. At least one person died and several were injured, including a minor in critical condition.
Emergency teams quickly responded and transported the injured to hospitals. Authorities are investigating the cause, while families await updates.
Separately, around 10 p.m. Tuesday, a speeding driver crashed and overturned a vehicle on the Gómez Palacio-Cuencamé Highway near Raymundo Park in Lerdo, Durango. Police found the vehicle empty and are investigating the incident.
