Pope Francis shared final wish before passing away

Pope Francis, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio, passed away on April 21 at age 88 due to a stroke, followed by a coma and heart failure. The first Latin-American pope, he led the Catholic Church for 12 years with a focus on social justice, the environment, and compassion for the marginalized. Known for his humility, he chose a modest lifestyle and often challenged tradition with progressive views. Despite early controversies, he later took firm action on abuse cases and spoke out against unjust laws and climate inaction. Honoring his final wishes, he will be buried simply at Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome.
