Insects like mosquitoes, which spread malaria, are the deadliest, followed by tsetse flies (sleeping sickness) and fleas (bubonic plague). Kissing bugs transmit Chagas disease, while bees, wasps, and fire ants can be deadly to those allergic to their stings. Asian giant hornets kill honeybees and occasionally humans, and assassin caterpillars cause fatal internal bleeding. Locusts destroy crops, leading to famine, and blister beetles secrete toxic substances harmful to both humans and animals.
