Many people struggle with their weight and appearance, despite campaigns promoting self-acceptance. Eating disorders remain a significant issue globally. Annie Windley, from Derbyshire, shares her journey of recovery after years of malnutrition.
At her lowest weight, just 29 kg (63 pounds), Annie faced serious health risks, including heart problems. Five years later, she still battles her condition but found recovery through her love of running, even completing the Chesterfield Half Marathon.
Annie encourages others with her story, stating, “Changing for the better is never too late,” and believes that while anorexia will always be part of her, she’s learned to control it.
