Braless TV news anchors spark heated debate S3
Albanian TV station Zjarr gained attention with a controversial decision in 2016: featuring braless news anchors. This provocative move sparked debate on whether it was bold and innovative or simply crossing the line, especially in a country like Albania, which is still recovering from a history of censorship under communist rule.
The station’s owner, Ismet Drishti, defended the choice as a means of promoting transparency and impartiality. He argued that the “naked” presentation of news symbolized honesty, not exploitation. The format was successful, leading Zjarr to consider expanding it with news in French and English, also following the “bare” concept.
