Christopher Reeve’s widow died from lung cancer 17 months after him, leaving their young son orphaned
Christopher Reeve’s 29-year-old son, Will, not only looks like his famous father but is also carrying on his legacy. Will tragically lost both parents at age 13, but he’s worked hard to honor his father’s memory and achievements.
Christopher Reeve, best known for playing Superman, was a hero to millions, but his life changed forever in 1995 after a horseback riding accident left him paralyzed. Despite doctors’ grim prognosis, Christopher became a passionate advocate for spinal cord injury research, co-founding the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.
Will had a “normal” childhood, despite his father’s fame. He fondly remembers his dad teaching him to ride a bike from his wheelchair and their playful races. Sadly, Christopher passed away in 2004 from complications following an infection, but his inspiring legacy lives on through Will and his work.
