Airline Will Allow Dogs And Cats In The Cabins

Virgin Airlines plans to allow pets on board, becoming the first Australian airline to do so. This initiative, expected to launch within a year, follows a 2021 survey where 85% of respondents supported pets in the cabin, and 57% said they’d fly more often if pets were allowed. CEO Jayne Hrdlicka highlighted the company’s commitment to animals and customer demand for pet-friendly travel. Small cats and dogs can travel in an approved carrier under the seat, with a fee to be determined. Assistance animals will still fly for free. Virgin assures passengers with allergies that strict rules will minimize any impact.
