This Region in Italy Will Pay You More Than $32,000 to Relocate
Italy, a top tourist destination known for its food, landscapes, and rich culture, is facing a population crisis in its rural towns. Younger generations are moving to cities for better jobs, leaving many homes abandoned. In response, initiatives like “Residency in the Mountains 2024” are offering new residents up to 30,000 euros (about $32,500) to help revitalize these areas.
However, there are conditions: grants range from 10,000 to 30,000 euros and can cover only 50% of home purchase or renovation costs. Eligible towns must have fewer than 5,000 residents, and applicants must be Italian citizens or EU nationals with a ten-year residence permit. Interested applicants can apply online through the Tuscany Region website by 1 PM CET on July 27, 2024.
