Bill Clinton and Hillary have been married for 46 years – she rejected him twice before saying “I do”

Bill Clinton rose to global fame when he became US President in 1993. Although his presidency was marked by political success, his affair with intern Monica Lewinsky significantly overshadowed his legacy.
Despite this scandal, Bill has remained married to Hillary Clinton for over 45 years. The couple met in college and have supported each other through many challenges.

Bill and Hillary met while studying law at Yale. During the 2016 Democratic National Convention, Bill recalled their first encounter in a political and civil rights class.

“In the spring of 1971, I met a girl,” he said, describing her as having thick blonde hair, big glasses, and a magnetic presence.
Although they crossed paths on campus, a pivotal moment occurred in the law library when Hillary, noticing Bill staring at her, approached him. “If you’re going to keep staring, we should at least know each other’s names. I’m Hillary Rodham, who are you?” she said.
Bill, initially speechless, introduced himself and soon asked her out. He noted, “She exuded a sense of strength and self-possession that I found magnetic.”
