In Auburn, Alabama, a young girl named Brooke Mills was taking her back-to-school photo when an unexpected guest appeared: a snake!
Her mother, ShaneJoy Mills, was capturing the moment as Brooke started seventh grade. Initially, the photo looked cute, but upon closer inspection, ShaneJoy noticed the snake blending into the tree behind her daughter.
ShaneJoy recalled, “Lord, it was scary! I said, ‘Brooke, get away from the tree now.’” The snake, later identified as a rat snake, was well-camouflaged and didn’t pose any immediate danger.
The photo has since gone viral, shared hundreds of times, reminding everyone that even school photos can come with surprises!
