A Study Reveals: Your Body Knows When Death Is Near, And It All Begins In The Nose
Coping with the death of a loved one is one of life’s toughest challenges, affecting us mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Healing can take years.
Some believe people sense death approaching, but it’s unclear. After death, the body releases chemicals like putrescine, which humans subconsciously recognize. This chemical acts as a warning, triggering fear and avoidance, much like animals sense danger.
In a study, people exposed to putrescine instinctively moved away, though they didn’t consciously link it to death. Similarly, the smell of fear-induced sweat can trigger similar responses, part of how we instinctively protect ourselves.
